About Us

More than 20 years ago, CANZLER & BERGMEIER emerged from the patent department of a mechanical engineering company with an international business base. Today, as the largest patent law firm in the Ingolstadt region, we have become a respected reference for all issues related to intellectual property rights. From “simple” inventions (which they never are, in our experience) to complex infringement lawsuits, from comprehensive consulting in patent, utility model, trademark or design law to drafting clear and profitable contracts – we bring our extensive experience and every effort to bear in supporting you. You can always rely on the legal and technical expertise of our dynamically growing team. Our mission is to help you understand even the most complex relationships and to provide clear guidance for your decisions.

Since 2008 we are one of the few law firms in Germany with ISO certification, in three areas (ISO 9001 - Quality Management, ISO 14001 - Environmental Management and ISO 27001 - IT Security). This ensures transparency, reliable service quality and an outstanding level of information security for our clients. We not only demonstrate this dedication to quality through certification, but also live and breathe it in our daily interactions.

Our constantly growing team includes numerous patent attorneys who are all licensed German patent attorneys, European patent agents and European trademark and design attorneys, an attorney at law, several patent engineers and our highly skilled office staff.

Our attorneys are consistently accessible and approachable. We take no stock in arrogance, because we know that the best results come from combining technical and legal expertise on the one hand, with good personal cooperation on the other. Our team offers the best possible conditions for this success.

One of our particular strengths arises from our in-depth knowledge of business processes and structures. We have broad industry experience based on our background as a former patent department for an industrial firm, as well as on collaboration with our clients in this field over the past two decades. We also possess wide-ranging expertise in the areas of patent management, patent information, monitoring of intellectual property rights and employee inventions law.

Our patent attorneys' technical expertise is very diverse, ranging from mechanical, civil and electrical engineering to physics and physical chemistry. We feel at home in almost every technical field – or able to master it in a very short time. In our profession, we learn to work with very diverse technologies on a daily basis. And just as importantly, we take pleasure in your ideas and do all we can to help you make the most of them. For you this means maximum protection under the best intellectual property rights, and for us it means putting the maximum effort into securing and protecting your IP rights, with maximum guidance – our goal is to keep you constantly informed while taking care of the details for you.

We apply the same high standards to our work in trademark and design law. Trademarks and designs are in no way secondary IP rights; indeed, they can sometimes be the most important or the only available protection. We have hundreds of domestic and foreign patents under our management, and we make every effort to maintain their value.
